Applications must be mailed by the submission deadline of May 6.

Scholarship Amount

For 2005, the Bellevue Rotary Club has established a $6,000 scholarship budget. Up to $2,000 is available for each scholarship. This is a one-time tuition scholarship grant, not a loan. Students are encouraged to determine their own financial application level and needs, up to $2,000. During the review process the Rotary Scholarship Committee will determine the amount of each scholarship to award, and reserves the right to withhold scholarship money for award later in the year.

Students Who Qualify

These scholarships are restricted to graduating seniors of Bellevue High School and the International School who are committed to pursuing further education next school year at a four-year college; community college; vocational school; art, business, technical, commercial or trade school.

Award Criteria

The following criteria will be utilized to review applications:

Evidence of Dedicated Effort as a Student

High school grades and courses taken are an important consideration, but this is not solely an academic scholarship.

Evidence of Good Citizenship & Community Involvement

Rotary Cubs are dedicated to “service beyond self.” We seek applicants that have demonstrated this quality in their school and in their community.

Evidence of Financial Need

We seek applicants who truly need help in continuing their education.

Evidence the Applicant Has a Plan for the Future

We seek applicants who have thought out their plans for the future, can describe where they will be attending school, what their plans are, and how they will use the scholarship funds.
