Rotary First Harvest - We will schedule 4 work parties, one per quarter. September 13 we had participation by 15 Rotarians and family members. Next BRC work party is December 13. A special effort is being made to raise awareness of this District program and we have just concluded a 3 week campaign to encourage individual/corporate donations culminating with an auction of carved pumpkins yesterday. BRC Annual donation: $5000.

Service to Mature Adults - will be organizing volunteers for Meals-on Wheels. We will be providing that organization with 2 new vans as a result of our 2003 auction and, hopefully, a District Simplified Grant. Committee Budget: $500.

Service to the Disabled - Working to find recipients for the Lynnwood Rotary wheel chair project. Will fund and help with manpower for the Ski for All adaptive cycling event for the Bellevue School District. Help either Community Living or Residents East with a hands-on project. Help the Special Olympics run one or two events on the Eastside. Committee Budget: $1000.

Environmental Protection - At least one trail restoration project, working with the City of Bellevue Parks Dept. Committee Budget: $0

Homeless Youth - Will continue partnership with Friends of Youth. Focus on the FOY joint project with the YMCA, The Landing, providing shelter and services for Eastside homeless youth. Committee Budget: $1000.

RotaCare - BRC initiated this District Project and continues to provide physician volunteers, Boardmembers, and this year is focusing on recruitment of non-doctor BRC members. A special educational mini-program is planned for the membership. BRC Annual donation: $8000 + proceeds from weekly lunch collection (est. $2000).

Project Development - Focus to create new opportunities in the area of Community Service. Club will participate for the second year in a more "developed" Rebuilding Together (formerly Christmas in April) project. Salvation Army Christmas bell ringing at Bellevue Square. At least 2 new hands-on projects. Committee Budget: $500.

Community Grants - Fall and Spring Grant cycles, focused outreach to community for requests. Increased budget this year and elimination of "sacred cows", i.e.. favorite club projects like Camp Goodtimes, Eastside Literacy and other established Club projects will now be competing for funds. Committee Budget: $40,500.

In addition, the Club will continue it's traditional Holiday Fund campaign. An expected collection of $9,000 - $10,000 will enable the Overlake Service League to provide holiday food and gifts to approximately 25 Eastside families.
