The Rotary clubs of greater Seattle are seeking business and professional people ages 25-40 to apply for a cultural/vocational exchange program with Central India this winter from mid-December 2010 to mid-January 2011.
The Group Study Exchange is a longstanding program of Rotary International, which offers an all-expense paid experience with home stays with Rotarian host country families, vocational visits, and an opportunity to exchange ideas and customs with counterparts. Applicants must live in Rotary District 5030, which basically corresponds to Seattle and its suburbs. The exchange is not open to Rotarians or their lineal descendants.
Applications for team members are due on July 19,2010. Complete information and application forms are available at gse.rotary5030.org.

The BRC grant of $500 this year for Evergreen Court was put to good use recently when I accompanied 15 seniors and Jeanette from Evergreen Court to see "42nd Street" on June 6. We all had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the show. Even Rob Rose's 99-year-old aunt attended, along with other 94-year-olds in wheelchairs and with walkers.
Jeanette sent an email thanking the BRC for the funds provided to them for this activity. "What a nice day for the residents! I can't tell you how much they enjoyed it. They talk about the first time they saw it, and the play just took them back to the "good old days."

Rotarians, friends, and older kids are needed to make this day the best day of the summer for 100 local kids with cancer. Camp is on Vashon Island and we catch the 10:20 ferry from Fauntleroy, near West Seattle.
At camp you will get to hang out with fun Rotarians Rachele Cawaring, Brad Hunt, Kathleen Steele, Gail Ryder, Jim Price, and Andy Mirkovich, and also Rotaractors and surprise guests!
Choose your assignment now, as the best are available: Dunk Tank, Slip and Slide, Foam Pit, Bounce House, and Obstacle Course. Also, we need some cleaner, dryer stations such as bead stringing, jelly bean guessing, face painting, faux tattooing, cookie decorating, and anything else you can come up with that is safe and fun.
Let Charlotte Ellis know of your plans.
