Rob Rose Recognized as Rotarian of the Year for District 5030

President-Elect Rich Herzberg, Rob & Gina Rose, President Sarah Langton
There are over 3300 Rotarians in the 55 clubs in District 5030, and there is one annual award given out to the Rotarian of the Year. This year, the recipient was our own Rob Rose.
At the Rotary District 5030 Conference in Victoria, BC, Rob spoke to the attendees from his heart about his ongoing mission to improve the lives of disadvantaged children, children and adults with disabilities, and orphans in developing countries, primarily India and Nepal, and change the perception of people who are Differently-Abled. Many of the Rotarians and guests might not have been aware of the mission that Rob and his wife Gina have been on for over 10 years now. They certainly were when he was done. He talked about his process and progress in leveraging over $300,000 of funding through the Rotary Foundation 3H Grant program.
Rob was presented with his award by District Governor Jesse Tam in front of an audience of over 500 Rotarians and conference attendees from our district.
Congratulations Rob! We are all very proud of you.
Too few are the exemptions from pesky Sergeant Fines. Alas, here is one any Bellevue Rotarian can take advantage of, but it requires some sleuthing: find out a fact about our Administrative Assistant, Lisa Forbes, share it with Sergeant At Arms Dale King, as well as bulletin@bellevuerotary.net, and be fine-free for the day the fact appears in the bulletin!
Don’t bother asking Lisa her favorite ice cream flavor — got it covered! Watch the bulletin!

If you are interested in hosting a GSE team at your work location for several hours or have any Rotarian connections that may be interested, please contact John Strathy (Ph 425-922-2995).
Camp Goodtimes Offers Two Sessions — Need Volunteers!
SAVE THE DATE! |
Camp Goodtimes is now offering 2 sessions: June 28-July 4 and July 26-August 1. We expect over 200 children with cancer to come to camp this year. For this to happen, we need 140 volunteers and have been working very hard to find applicants. If you have kids over 18, friends, or employees who might be available either week, ask them to go to www.campgoodtimeswest.org to apply on line.
In addition to cabin counselors, we need program staff and support staff. The camp is on nearby Vashon Island, the cabins are modern, the beach is wonderful, and everyone who comes has a great week. Contact Charlotte Ellis for more information.
