Dr. Glen Curda is a math major from the Midwest who got smart and changed both his career and location. Glen worked as a staff podiatrist for Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento before he and his wife, Jeanne, moved to Bellevue in 1982.
Glen has a private practice in Bellevue and has been on active staff at Overlake Hospital since settling here. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and does surgery both in the office and at the hospital. He treats a wide variety of foot disorders.
His presentation is titled “Foot Notes” and will explore some myths associated with common foot problems. There will be no review of the movie “My Left Foot”!
Former Bellevue Rotarian Geri Lucks passed away in Seattle on January 5th. A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 14th, at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, 1245 10th Ave E, in Seattle. The family has suggested contributions be made to the Swedish Medical Center Foundation in lieu of flowers, where the funds could be used for cancer research.
Geri held the classification of Travel-Cruise and Luxury and after her retirement, she traveled a great deal. Her community service included board positions for the Museum of History and Industry and the Museum of Flight. Geri had also served as chair of the Pioneer Square Historic Architectural Board and represented Washington State on the Board of Advisors for the National Historic Preservation Trust

Thank you, Rotarians! Together we have raised over $13,000 for the annual Rotary Holiday Fund, which will underwrite Overlake Service League’s Adopt-A-Family program, benefitting 200 needy Eastside families during the holiday season and throughout the year. The Bellevue Rotary website has a wonderful video about the program. If you haven't had a chance yet, click here to view the video. Have a wonderful 2009! |
