THIS WEEK'S PROGRAM

Rick Steves
Travel Author & TV & Radio Host
"Travel as a Political Act"

Bulletin ImagaeRick Steves (www.ricksteves.com) writes European travel guidebooks and hosts travel shows on public television and public radio. He grew up in Edmonds, Washington, and studied at the University of Washington, where he received degrees in Business Administration and European History. His real education, however, came in Europe — since 1973, Rick has spent 120 days a year in Europe. Spending one third of his adult life living out of a suitcase in Europe has shaped his thinking.

Today, Rick employs 80 people at his Europe Through the Back Door headquarters in Edmonds, where he produces 30 guidebooks on European travel, the most popular travel series in America on public television, a weekly hour-long national public radio show, and a weekly column syndicated by the Chicago Tribune.

Rick and his wife Anne have traveled each of the last 18 years with their two kids, Andy and Jackie.

Bulletin ImagaeDid you know that Bellevue Rotarian Rob Rose has a registered non-profit organization that provides support for many of the Rotary-related projects in Nepal that our club has undertaken, as well as works to help disadvantaged children, orphaned children and children with disabilities in Nepal?

The Rose International Fund for Children — or TRIFC — has been operating for over a year now, working in Nepal with child sponsorships, scholarships and medical assistance to those in need.

Would you like to receive the TRIFC newsletter, volunteer or send a donation? Just give Rob a call, or email him at rrosephoto@comcast.net to get "in the loop" and receive news about the projects and children in Nepal!
