Christie True
Christie has been with King County for more than 21 years and has extensive experience in project management, facility planning, environmental compliance and water quality programs. Before coming to King County, Christie worked for City of Bellingham’s wastewater utility. Christie holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from Huxley College, Western Washington University. Club Environment Project: Adopt-A-Stream
The stream being adopted is Valley Creek, winding through Highland Park near 140th and Northup Way. Activities for the day will include clean-up/removal of over overgrown blackberries and other vegetation and, depending on how much area has been cleared and if money is available to purchase plants, replanting the area with native shrubs and plants. The Saturday project is sheduled to run from 9:00am till noon at Highland Park, on 140th, across the street from the Safeway. Parking is near the baseball diamonds by the YMCA or in the Safeway parking lot. Please contact BJ Rasmussen to sign up. Snow is in the air! Commit to the February 2007 BRC Sun Valley event now to enhance your chances of getting free accommodations (thanks accommodations hosts Acton, Anderson, Florence, and Mast!) for a fun fellowship. If you like skiing in the sun on miles of perfectly manicured runs, this trip is for you!
Participants will be responsible for all their own expenses, other than hosted accommodations and the event(s) covered by the $50 confirmation fee discussed below. Upon registration for hosted beds, you will be billed a $50 event/confirmation fee by BRC for each bed reserved (limited to two per member). That fee will be used for one or two group events at the Valley. The $50 fee will be nonrefundable, except for $25 for any registrants who cancel by December 19, 2006. Canceling by that date will allow others time to make arrangements and search for lowest fares. The event fee will not be billed in advance to those arranging their own accommodations at facilities other than those offered by our host members. Those participants may pay their share at the non-hosted events they attend. In addition to our members who are opening their SV accommodations to us without charge, Frank and Susan Young will be hosting an après ski wine tasting party again this year (thanks, Susan and Frank!). The setting is elegant and the wines offered last year were very special. The Youngs have scheduled their reception for Saturday, February 3, as that is the day most attendees' time at the Valley will overlap. Please do not register with any of our hosts directly. Hosts and guests confirming their attendance per the instructions below will have first priority for this event. Be sure to include your arrival and departure dates and times when signing up. The SV ski committee will assign accommodations to match your schedule, as long as hosted beds are available. For those planning to drive from Boise, rather than flying directly to the ski area, consider teaming up with another couple or ski buddies to coordinate arrival/departure times, if you wish to share a rental car. If you are planning to drive from home, please advise of that, as well as whether you have room for others. Do let me know when you register if you are traveling with others, so we can try to book your group into the same accommodations. Hosted beds will be assigned in the order received by me from those committed to pay the $50 event fee. Please be sure to just email your confirmations or questions to me. The hosts and committee are looking forward to a good turnout, so don't take a chance on getting left out. To join the 2007 Sun Valley ski with BRC, confirm with me ASAP!
