This Week, August 22:
David Voetmann
Quest Aircraft COMPANY, LLC

“From Success to Significance”
The impossible is only one dream and one miracle from reality
.

Bulletin ImageDavid Voetmann is the founder of Quest Aircraft Company, LLC, the manufacturer of a new 10-seat single engine turboprop utility airplane known as the KODIAK, which fulfills the need for modern back country aircraft designed to meet the extraordinary demands of humanitarian aviation.

In 1998 Voetmann envisioned and launched a “fleet renewal project” to design, manufacture and distribute the “next-generation bush” aircraft. According to Voetmann, "There had not been a good 'bush' aircraft built since the old DeHavilland Beavers and Otters 50 years ago. The concept was that since there was both a humanitarian need as well as a commercial domestic need for a new turbine-powered utilitarian aircraft, we would design a commercial company that would be owned completely by a charitable trust to allow all net-profits to go exclusively to supply aircraft and funding for Third World humanitarian mission needs."

Since it's humble beginnings, Quest Aircraft Company has grown to over 75 employees, working on a 25-acre cite, with an 84,000 s.f. manufacturing facility at Sandpoint, Idaho. The Kodiak prototype has been flying since October 16, 2004, with 500 stellar flight hours of testing. The aircraft has passed all major structural FAA tests and FAA Certification approvals are expected by early fall.

Voetmann holds a commercial pilots license with instrument and instructor ratings and, like most mission pilots, is also a licensed Aviation (A&P) mechanic with FAA Inspection Authorization, which enables him to fly and maintain his aircraft in remote and distant places.

Voetmann and his wife recently returned from a month spent at the mission hospital station in Africa where they began their missionary flying ministry from 1964-74.

Save September 28th for the
Bellevue Rotary Fall Fellowship Golf Event!

Bulletin ImageWe have booked 32 times at Willows Run, with the first tee-off at 1:00 pm. For this event we will be playing a "Scramble" format. Ken Reid will be putting the pairings together so that every team will have an equal chance to win. We will also have KP's and maybe a long drive.

The cost is $90 and will include: greens fees, carts, ball and food. There will also be a no-host bar available. This fee will be billed to your Rotary account.

For the newer members, this is an excellent way to to get to know your fellow Rotarians. You do not need to be a great golfer, as we will balance the teams so everyone will have an equal chance to win. The lower handicapped players are paired with the higher handicapped players, so everyone will have fun.

The first 32 members who (Ph 425-417-6794) their handicaps and/or average score for 18 holes are in.
