Request for Help
Katherine Thompson
Bellevue Rotarians,
District Governor Don Gregory recently received the following request for assistance from a long time friend. If you can help this family, please respond directly to the child’s grandmother, Kathi Dolce at ddolce@comcast.net; or if you would like additional information about the family, please contact DG Don at dg0708@rotary5030.org.
Our 18-month-old granddaughter, Anna, is profoundly deaf. She will be having cochlear implant surgery in Seattle in mid-August, with several follow-up appointments through September 7. After her mom and I made the 9 hour drive from Montana to Seattle a couple of weeks ago for the evaluation appointments with Anna and her two older siblings, it became very clear that there is no way we can do that between each of the appointments. It is way too much time in the car for all of us, to say nothing of the gas wasted and bad restaurant meals. Therefore, we are looking for accommodations for about a month in the Seattle area.
If you know of anyone who has a vacation rental, apartment, house sitting, or something of the sort, will you please send us the contact information? We are not looking for free space, but if it fell into our lap, we would not mind. There will be three children and three adults total, and if the place is small, we will bring airbeds. We do need cooking facilities.
The family owns a vacation rental home in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana and will be happy to work out a trade, if that is preferable. Her vacation home has three bedrooms and a gourmet kitchen, and is in a beautiful setting with hiking and fishing opportunities.
Thanks for your help and please pass this note along to others who may be able to help.
Warm regards,
Kathie Dolce

Club to Club Nepal Project
Rob Rose is Readying for Another Trip
This coming February Rob Rose will be taking another trip to Nepal to help uplift the lives of people with disabilities in Nepal, those who are on the lowest rung of the societal ladder in Nepal.
This Rotary Group Trip to Nepal is planned for February 15-25th, 2008, and all Rotarians, their spouses and families are invited to come along. There are already a number of people confirmed, so be sure and let Rob know soon if you’d like to go too! The Nepali Rotarians are warm and hospitable. The trip will include Rotary project visits, sightseeing and a volunteer day in Kathmandu. The Rotary friendships you’ll make along with the history and scenery in Nepal will make for a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
Stay tuned to the weekly bulletin (online and printed) for updates on Rob's nepal journey. When the trip begins, we will be posting Rob's trip headlines as they come in with RSS feeds right here on the site. In the meantime, you can visit Rob's Rotary Nepal website to find out more about this project.
