W.G. Clark Construction Co.

BRC photoMichael E. Sotelo is founder and President of Approach Management Services and Vice President of Field Operations and Partner at W.G. Clark Construction Co.  As a nationally-recognized safety professional, he has over 20 years experience in all phases of the construction industry.  Mike currently manages and oversees seven retrospective rating groups and industry-specific services that include professional risk management consultation, accident prevention, workers’ compensation claim management, and other related services.  Approach is an award-winning company and a recognized industry leader throughout Washington and Idaho.

Mike works tirelessly with the Latino Community and currently serves as the president for the Washington State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He is passionate about serving the Latino Community and believes that with 80% of Latinos in Washington State being first-generation, it is vital that we raise the profile of successful Latinos and provide mentoring for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

One year ago, Mike assembled a team of local business leaders to found Plaza Bank. As a community bank, Plaza Bank's focus will be on serving local families and businesses within the Hispanic community. The first branch is slated to open in June 2006 in Kent, WA.

Spring golf Outing, Trilogy
Brad Hunt

Bulletin PhotoSo far we have 16 people signed up for our spring golf outing on Monday, June 5th, at Trilogy Golf and Country Club. I have reserved 32 spots and need to know how many others are wanting to play.

Our first tee off is 1:30 and we will be playing a "Shamble" team format. We will also have a KP's and maybe a long drive. The cost is $95 and will be billed to your Rotary account. This fee includes green fees, carts, balls and food. There will be a no-host bar available.

For our newer members, it is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow Rotarians. You do not have to be a great golfer, as we balance the teams so everyone will have an equal chance to win. The lower handicapped player are paired with the higher handicapped players so everyone will have fun.

If you have any questions or want to play, email me. Don't forget to include your handicap or average score for 18 holes.

Camp Goodtimes, June 29

Bellevue Rotary will again bring the best day of the whole summer to Camp Goodtimes on Vashon Island. Save Thursday, June 29th, for this fun event. We are expecting 140 kids with cancer, on or off treatment, and have arranged to rent carnival games for this day.

At least 40 Rotarians are needed to be at camp as carnie workers. Look for sign-up sheets in May or early June. Contact Charlotte Ellis if you have questions.
