Brent Christie is an accomplished hotel executive and the successful founder/developer of two hotel management and advisory companies. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of The LaCosta Company, a company he co-developed to provide management, marketing and asset advisory services to the owners of high profile hotels and resorts. He was instrumental in the sale of LaCosta, which also included the sale of his company and his company’s interests in the internationally prominent LaCosta brand and trademarks.
Prior to forming The LaCosta Company, Christie co-founded and developed Capitol Hotel Group, a multifaceted hotel advisory services and management firm. Under his leadership, the company grew to a portfolio of 26 hotels and resorts nationwide, representing 8,072 hotel rooms with annual sales in excess of $360M, earning the company recognition by Hotel Business magazine as one the top 15 hotel management companies in the U.S.
Before co-developing Capitol Hotel Group, Christie was one of four original corporate officers instrumental in developing The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for WB Johnson in Atlanta, Georgia.
Christie currently serves as Executive Director and Board Chair of the Jubilee REACH Center bringing together churches, schools, government and services organizations to meet the needs of the underserved, diverse cultures in the Lake Hills area of Bellevue. In addition, he serves on the Board of Eastside Academy, a Christian alternative High School serving “at risk” youth. He is a founding Board Member of Rwanda Partners, connecting resources to the recovery and reconciliation of that African country. He has been married 30 years to Cindy. They have two children, Justin (26) and Amanda (21).
High School Volunteers Needed
The Auction Committee needs a few more high school student volunteers to help at the Rotary Auction on May 10. Students are needed from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and get community service hours for their efforts. They also get food and fun! Message from the Board
There are several forums used by the club to disseminate information to club members, most notably the weekly business meeting, bulletin, webpage, roster and mailing/e-mail lists. It is the policy of the club that these forums be used for club-related information only. Any use for personal or business reasons is inappropriate.
Camp Goodtimes on the Horizon
Camp Goodtimes Rotary Day carnival is set for Thursday, June 26th. Plan to spend the day at camp on Vashon Island. We need at least 40 people to make this happen, so bring your friends, teenage kids, office staff to help with the games. Ten Grands Performance
Ten Grands features ten grand pianos and ten concert pianists playing a variety of classical and modern pieces both simultaneously and individually. There is a concert in Seattle at Benaroya Hall on Saturday, May 17, at 7:00PM.
Concert proceeds benefit The Snowman Foundation, which in turn benefits youth service groups, helps generate scholarships and music lessons for disadvantaged youth in Oregon and Southwest Washington and helps purchase pianos for schools and organizations in need.
For the first time, Ten Grands is taking its show on the road; specifically, taking it north to Seattle. In addition to raising funds for The Snowman Foundation, this performance will also benefit PONCHO (Patrons of Northwest Civic, Cultural and Charitable Organizations). The organization strives to create a diverse and expansive community which celebrates and supports the vitality and variety of the arts.

Fellowship Event: Golf at Trilogy
We have reserved 32 spots for the spring golf fellowship at Trilogy Golf Club, Redmond Ridge, on Wednesday June 4th. The cost is $100 for balls, carts, greens fee, prizes and food. The first starting time is 1:00 pm, and we will be playing a "Scramble" format.
