THIS WEEK'S PROGRAM

Pastor David Tinney
"The Power of Forgiveness"
Bulletin Image

Pastor David Tinney is known throughout the greater Eastside as the "pastor who was pushed off his bike by a carload of teenagers." If this were the end of this dubious distinction he would be just another cyclist who was injured on the road. It is what happened after the assault that made a difference. Pastor Tinney forgave his assailants and then has used his experience and the experiences of others to teach and heal through forgiveness.

Pastor Tinney is currently serving Aldersgate United Methodist Church in the Eastgate area of Bellevue and has been there six years. Pastoral ministry is a second career path and he spent the first twenty years of his life working for newspapers across the country as a photojournalist and graphics editor. He is married for 33 years to his wife Carol and they have two grown children, Bill and Becky. He has not given up on his cycling and last year led a 1,000 mile bike trip from Montana, zigzagging across Idaho and Washington, and ending in Vancouver, WA. His bike of choice right now is a recumbent tricycle that flies the flag "Grace Happens!"

BCC Rotaract Club Solicits Support
Sergey Smirnov, President-Elect, BCC Rotaract Club
Bulletin ImageBulletin ImageThe BCC Rotaract Club is hosting a table of 10 at the BCC Foundation Luncheon on Wednesday, April 25th. We would like to have the Bellevue Rotary to help fill this table. Surely, a number of the Rotary Club members are already planning to attend this luncheon and might consider sitting with the Rotaractors. Suggested donations start at $150 (a significant portion of which goes directly to BCC Rotaract) and any donation on top of that amount will benefit Rotaract in full. If all 10 seats are filled, an additional table will become available!

If you have any questions or would like to participate in the luncheon with the BCC Rotaract Club, please contact

Camp Goodtimes, June 28
Charlotte Ellis
The Rotary Carnival at Camp Goodtimes is the highlight of the summer for area children with cancer and their siblings who attend camp. Bellevue Rotarians and their guests make this day possible.

This year, our theme is The Circus, and we hope everyone will get makeovers from our Gene Juarez stylists, back for the 10th year.

Camp is held on Vashon Island; take the Fauntleroy Ferry. Come mid-morning and plan on spending the day. You will have as much fun as the kids! We have lunch at camp with the campers and stop for pizza and beverages at Rock Island Pizza before heading for the 6:00 pm ferry back to Seattle. Look for more information and sign-up sheets in May.

Sarah LangtonBulletin Image
District 5030 is pleased to announce that the 2007 District Conference will be held at The Coeur d'Alene Resort in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, from 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007. Join us for a celebration of the accomplishments of District 5030 clubs during 2006-2007, and enjoy the true spirit of Rotary fellowship.

To register for the conference, please go to the Rotary District 5030 website, and look for information on the District Conference and the registration forms. Fill out the form and mail it in to the District Office. Please note that hotel reservations are made separately (information is on the registration form). We encourage you to book your hotel rooms early, as the resort will likely fill due to the conference.

We would love to have a strong Bellevue Rotary showing at the conference. Hope to see you in beautiful Coeur d’Alene in April!
