Pastor David Tinney Pastor David Tinney is known throughout the greater Eastside as the "pastor who was pushed off his bike by a carload of teenagers." If this were the end of this dubious distinction he would be just another cyclist who was injured on the road. It is what happened after the assault that made a difference. Pastor Tinney forgave his assailants and then has used his experience and the experiences of others to teach and heal through forgiveness. Pastor Tinney is currently serving Aldersgate United Methodist Church in the Eastgate area of Bellevue and has been there six years. Pastoral ministry is a second career path and he spent the first twenty years of his life working for newspapers across the country as a photojournalist and graphics editor. He is married for 33 years to his wife Carol and they have two grown children, Bill and Becky. He has not given up on his cycling and last year led a 1,000 mile bike trip from Montana, zigzagging across Idaho and Washington, and ending in Vancouver, WA. His bike of choice right now is a recumbent tricycle that flies the flag "Grace Happens!"
