THIS WEEK'S PROGRAM

James Sun, President, Zoodango, Inc.
[Currently appearing on "The Apprentice"]
"Zoodango"

Bulletin Image

James Sun is the CEO and Founder of Zoodango.com, a social networking site for professionals, which enables businesses and non-profit organizations to create unprecedented communication and viral marketing.

Businesses and non-profit organizations can create a profile on Zoodango and use it as a foundation for networking directly with members, customers, and potential customers, enabling businesses to interact directly with the social networking user audience, and extends their brand through word of mouth. The Zoodango platform allows users to find particular businesses by industry or location; and profiled companies can generate leads, as well as receive user feedback. Businesses can also use the Zoodango platform to create sub-groups of employees, members, or customers through the Zoodango linking feature.

James' role as CEO requires him to attend and speak at many events outside of the office. He enjoys public speaking because it provides a platform to share his experiences of successes and failures to help equip other business, technology, and future leaders.

Born in Seoul, Korea, James immigrated with his family to the United States at age 4, arriving with less than $1000. He was raised in humble circumstances, with no money or personal networks and very little English language skills. The experience created a passionate desire to succeed, and James started selling window cleaning services in elementary school and continued to work throughout junior high and high school to make sure he always had enough money.

James' passion to succeed started at a young age due to his circumstances, but he realizes that success is not always monetary. Success is measured differently for all people. When asked, "What's your definition of success?" James responds by saying:

"Waking up in the morning with a smile. Walking through the rain without worrying. Eating and appreciating simple foods. Building with greater cause. Living with passion. Sleeping and knowing I did everything I could that day. Success is having peace with yourself every day."

James graduated from the University of Washington Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems. He is a Board Member of the Washington Software Alliance (WSA).

Rob Rose Nepal Trip Receives Praise
Rob Rose and his wife Gina are back from their trip to Nepal, which was chronicled in his two blogs (Rotary trip blog and the TRIFC blog). They are getting over their jet lag and back into their regular work patterns. In the meantime, the following email arrived from the President of the Rotary Club of Pokhara Fishtail, thanking Rob for his presentation to their club.

We had a nice meeting on 21 February 2007 at RC Pokhara Annapurna where you had made a nice presentation on Disability Project you are planning to implement in Nepal after she is having her own district since July 2008.

I along with other members present on the occasion were very pleased by your presentation. It was well received by the participants. Everyone present there were fascinated by the project ideas you shared with them. I was much impressed, not only by your noble ideas, but by your well-organized and professional presentation. Your presentation and interactions during the time of dinner has inspired me and my friends to work in the field of disability with deep orientation. By implementing the project as your vision and spirit, we can make a difference in the life of disable people in Nepal. The project will be of a great help to the newly born Nepal District 3292. I personally and on behalf of my club RC Pokhara Fishtail would like to assure you that we will come up with a project for disable people in 2008.

Wishing you all the best and success in your mission,

L.B.Baniya
President 2006-2007
RC Pokhara Fishtail

Camp Goodtimes, June 28
Charlotte Ellis
The Rotary Carnival at Camp Goodtimes is the highlight of the summer for area children with cancer and their siblings who attend camp. Bellevue Rotarians and their guests make this day possible.

This year, our theme is The Circus, and we hope everyone will get makeovers from our Gene Juarez stylists, back for the 10th year.

Camp is held on Vashon Island; take the Fauntleroy Ferry. Come mid-morning and plan on spending the day. You will have as much fun as the kids! We have lunch at camp with the campers and stop for pizza and beverages at Rock Island Pizza before heading for the 6:00 pm ferry back to Seattle. Look for more information and sign-up sheets in May.

Walk For Water, March 24
Joanne Primavera, Chairperson
District Water, Health & Hunger Concerns

There will be a Walk for Water at Alki Beach (Statue of Liberty Plaza, across from the Alki Starbucks) on March 24, at 11:00 a.m. This event is sponsored by Starbucks, and you will receive free coffee and water and join many others in this fun walk.

The purpose of the walk is to draw attention to the need for water around the world and to allow participants to know how far people have to walk for potable water each day.

Ethos Water, Starbucks Coffee Company and other leading non-profit and corporate supporters are planning a major effort around World Water Day 2007. Building on our highly successful efforts in 11 US cities in 2006, we are planning World Water Day events in 25 US and Canadian cities to raise awareness of the more than 1 billion people worldwide who lack access to clean drinking water.

Please click here to register today for World Water Day events. We hope you will join us in Seattle on Thursday March 22 and Saturday March 24, or online through the “Virtual Walk for Water.”

We are committed to increasing awareness of the world water crisis and are proud to be part of World Water Day. We look forward to your participation.

Please visit www.worldwaterday.net to learn more and find out how you can make a difference.
