Camp Goodtimes, June 28
Charlotte Ellis
The Rotary Carnival at Camp Goodtimes is the highlight of the summer for area children with cancer and their siblings who attend camp. Bellevue Rotarians and their guests make this day possible.

This year, our theme is The Circus, and we hope everyone will get makeovers from our Gene Juarez stylists, back for the 10th year.

Camp is held on Vashon Island; take the Fauntleroy Ferry. Come mid-morning and plan on spending the day. You will have as much fun as the kids! We have lunch at camp with the campers and stop for pizza and beverages at Rock Island Pizza before heading for the 6:00 pm ferry back to Seattle. Look for more information and sign-up sheets in May.

Walk For Water, March 24
Joanne Primavera, Chairperson
District Water, Health & Hunger Concerns

There will be a Walk for Water at Alki Beach (Statue of Liberty Plaza, across from the Alki Starbucks) on March 24, at 11:00 a.m. This event is sponsored by Starbucks, and you will receive free coffee and water and join many others in this fun walk.

The purpose of the walk is to draw attention to the need for water around the world and to allow participants to know how far people have to walk for potable water each day.

Ethos Water, Starbucks Coffee Company and other leading non-profit and corporate supporters are planning a major effort around World Water Day 2007. Building on our highly successful efforts in 11 US cities in 2006, we are planning World Water Day events in 25 US and Canadian cities to raise awareness of the more than 1 billion people worldwide who lack access to clean drinking water.

Please click here to register today for World Water Day events. We hope you will join us in Seattle on Thursday March 22 and Saturday March 24, or online through the “Virtual Walk for Water.”

We are committed to increasing awareness of the world water crisis and are proud to be part of World Water Day. We look forward to your participation.

Please visit www.worldwaterday.net to learn more and find out how you can make a difference.
