About Camp Korey

fishingCamp Korey is a medically supervised camp, staffed with physicians and nurses and trained camp counselors for children suffering from serious and life threatening illnesses.  The camp provides a week-long experience of camp programs and activities for children ages 7-16, at no cost to them.

Located on the historic Carnation Farm, the camp has a unique agricultural theme, drawing on the experience and activities of agricultural producers in the scenic Snoqualmie Valley.

Camp Korey as able to fulfill its mission due to generous contributions from supporters who are committed to helping provide the joy and fun of camp for kids who spend most of their time struggling to be healthy.

rockclimbingThe camp is specifically designed for children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses, and allows campers to safely enjoy the activities of "traditional" camp. Between swimming, arts and crafts, boating, fishing, horseback riding, climbing walls and evening campfires, complete with marshmallows and songs, children whose lives have been a series of medical procedures and hospital stays are transformed into "just kids." Campers have a chance to be with other kids coping with the same illnesses or conditions and quickly realize that at camp, they are not alone and they are not "different."

In addition to the summer camp programs, the facilities of Camp Korey offer year-round programming related to its mission, including family camps, well sibling camps, bereavement camps, reunion camps, special conferences, and education programs.

Proceeds from the 2009 Bellevue Rotary Auction will be used to build medically equipped cabins so that more kids can experience Camp Korey.
