Neil J. Nicoll
President, Seattle YMCA
"Health & Obesity"

x0712Nicoll1Neil Nicoll has served as President of the YMCA of Greater Seattle since 1992. In that role he leads a mission-driven, 15- branch, $48 million organization, serving 186,000 people annually through the combined efforts of 9,000 volunteers and 1,700 employees. Prior to joining the YMCA of Greater Seattle, Neil served as President of the YMCA of Greater Worcester, MA, and in various capacities, YMCAs in Dorchester, MA, Washington DC and Baltimore MD.

In addition to his current duties with the YMCA in Seattle he chairs the Seattle University Non-Profit Executive Master’s Degree Program Visiting Committee, Council of Youth Agencies, YMCA Urban Group and the YMCA’s of Washington Public Policy Committee. Neil also served on the Mayor’s Citizen’s Advisory Committee for the Family and Education Levy in 2004.

Neil has or currently chairs the Abundant Assets Alliance between the Search Institute and YMCA of the USA, the YMCA Gulick Project on national lifestyle health issues and has served as a founding member of the Seattle It’s About Time For Kids Initiative.

Neil plays golf and reads for pleasure and holds a BA degree in history from Eastern Nazarene College and an M.Ed degree from Springfield College. He holds an Executive Management Certificate from Clark University and has attended the Howard Business School Non Profit management Program.

Rob Rose's New
Photography Exhibit
July 9!

x0712RosePhoto1All BRC members are invited to Rob Rose's new photography exhibit, "Portraits of India and Nepal," this Saturday, July 9th, from 5-7 pm, at World Cup Espresso & Wine, 5200 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle (Ph 206-729-4929).

There will be new photographs from this year's trip to Nepal. There will also be a tasting of some wonderful South Africa wines! A $10 fee covers the $5 tasting fee and a $5 donation that will go towards Rotary projects in Nepal!
